Goals

• The goal of the project is to create an additional income for women in the SMGs through alternate livelihoods, thereby elevate their social status, self-respect and dignity.
• The project aims to provide additional income of Rs. 60,000 per year for per household and also strengthen Sasya Mitra Groups in the process.

Objectives

• 6000 families are able to cope with drought and lead a dignified life by diversifying income sources (farm based, off-farm and non-farm) by women in the family.
• 600 women sasyamitra groups are strengthened so that they lead the development process in the project area.
• 1000 rural women are supported to avail required skill through trainings and workshops.

Project Inaugural Function

Project inaugural function was organized on 13.09.2020, the day being the first anniversary of late B.N. Yugandhar garu. The function was organized in AF Ecology Centre. Sri Gandham Chandrudu IAS, District Collector & Magistrate was the Chief Guest.  Smt. Lakshmi Venugopal and Sri K.R. Venugopal, parents of Mrs. Anupama V. Nadella participated virtually online, representing Mrs. Anupama V. Nadella’s family. The other guests who participated were common friends & well-wishers of Sri K.R. Venugopal’s family and AFEC, included Sri Gopal, District Industries Manager (Retd.), Smt. Bhanuja, Chief Functionary REDS, Smt. Y. Doreen Reddy, Director, Women Sector, RDT. From AF Ecology Centre, Dr. Y.V. Malla Reddy, Mr. Muralikrishna COO, Smt. Hakeem Rizwana, Smt. Aruna Kumari, Sri Fazlulla and Sri Shaikshavali participated. Importantly, the participants included 12 rural women entrepreneurs, who were selected as the first batch of women entrepreneurs as beneficiaries under the project.  They were invited to the project inauguration in order to pay them the first project assistance for starting their businesses
